The Evolution of Artificial Intelligence

Want to take a look back at one of the most pivotal fields of research in the current world of technology? Join us this Thursday, as CompSoc and the Invariants are joined at 6pm by Professor Nigel Shadbolt to take a look at previous developments in the field of artificial intelligence, before looking to the future.

Abstract: This talk will review key developments in the history of artificial intelligence. It will draw a number of historical lessons for current and future systems. We'll examine the technical challenges facing current generative AI and consider ways in which the subject is likely to evolve.
