Hi Everyone!

This week we have a really cool event lined up! Dionach (a white-hat pen testing company based on the outskirts of our fine city) are coming in with a load of raspberry pi's set up with particular vulnerabilities. They will talk a bit about particular vulnerabilities and get teams of people to try and break into them remotely. This is definitely an event you will want to come down to!

Also, this week, we have a competition running, organised by our secretary Greg:

CompSoc is having mini competition to see who can make the best Sevens playing program! Will happen around 7-10pm next Saturday evening in the social area.

At some point that evening submit to me a Java .class file which implements the following interface. Anything goes except reflection, returning invalid moves, or causing the simulation to hang! :P

The actual running of the competition will happen during our next weekly geek night. Hope to see many of you there!

Capture the Pi Challenge - Workshop with Dionach

Wednesday 15th May
Department Of Computer Science - Lecture Theatre A

This week we have a guest company, Dionach, coming in to do an interactive session with attendees. You will need to bring your laptops with you for this event, and don't forget power cables. People will also be grouped up into teams.

Teams will be challenged to exploit vulnerabilities that have been setup on Raspberry Pis, in order to understand various types of software vulnerabilities.

Dionach are an information security consultancy based in Oxfordshire that specialize in penetration testing.
