Hello All,

Please note that this weeks Tech Talk by metaswitch has been postponed until 8th week. We also have a message from our sponsor Ensoft.

Geek Night 6
Undergraduate Social Area - 7:00pm Saturday (5th week)

Our sixth geek night of term. Come along for the usual chatting, games, coding and refreshments.

Learn to Code

The Committee are looking into the feasibility of restarting Learn to Code next term (Hilary), and so we've put together a short survey to gauge interest. You can find the survey here:http://goo.gl/forms/XT80krMLjR

If you're at all interested in coming along to Learn to Code, please fill it in! Completing the survey is by no means an obligation to attend - we just want to get an idea of how many people might be interested, and when people might have time to attend. If you have any questions, you can contact the Committee at committee@ox.compsoc.net.

Ensoft - Software Development Careers and Internships

Are you looking to start a career next September in technology? Or looking for an internship next summer? Interested in a small company with a great culture, that's also very successful and offers a graduate starting salary of £35,000, or £20,000 pro-rata for interns?

Ensoft develops software that connects the world. The Internet depends every day on the code we write - it's challenging work that matters. It’s also fun - being really good at writing complex software is what we enjoy.

We've grown by taking a few of the best Oxbridge graduates each year, and investing heavily in their training. It's an ideal environment for bright, creative people who want to develop rapidly. If you bring the computer science knowledge and coding skills needed to tame Internet-scale complex systems, you can solve challenging problems as part of a world-class software engineering team.

Our application process is very simple:
  • Email a CV to recruitment@ensoft.co.uk by midnight on Tuesday 24th November
  • Interviews (lasting no more than 2 hours) are held the following Tuesday at The University Club, Mansfield Road, Oxford.
  • If successful, you'll have a firm offer quickly.
You can find more details on www.ensoft.co.uk/careers, or get reminders by following us on Twitter (@ensoftuk) or Facebook (ensoftuk). But I would encourage you to apply soon. Whilst everything is designed to take up as little of your time as we can, it is still very competitive for places.

Thanks for your time,
