Hello, everyone. It's been a relatively quiet term for Compsoc - due partially to me being rather lax in arranging events - but now, things are happening! Hooray.
Before I get to this week's talk, I must first discuss the upcoming committee elections. Elections are held at the AGM, which will be on Wednesday of 8th Week, and the positions up for election are Treasurer, Secretary and President.
If you're interested in running for one of the positions, then you can email me, Martin or David at the president@, secretary@ and treasurer@ addresses if you want to know more - we'll be more than happy to discuss the positions with you, and give an idea of just how much work is involved (hint: not much). If you do want to run, sling me an email by Tuesday of 8th Week saying the position you're running for, and a proposer and seconder (both must be ordinary members of the society, but generally finding two of them is easy).
If you're of a constitutional-reading nature, or want to know the official capacities of each post, have a look at http://ox.compsoc.net/constitution/. It's gripping stuff, honestly.
Right, on to the events:
Bugzilla ========
Speaker: Gervase Markham Wednesday 27th February, 20:00 Jean Robinson Room, Keble
Gervase will give a talk about Bugzilla, with an amusing wander through its development and some musings about the bug tracking process. Meet at the Keble Porter's Lodge - there will be someone there to guide you to the talk.
Gervase is, reportedly, a very entertaining speaker, and I highly recommend this talk - not that I have any bias, or anything.
Next week, we'll have a Rebellion talk and the AGM bundled up into one Evening Of Fun™; more information on that next weekend.
Hopefully I'll see you on Wednesday!
Andrew
