Hello everyone,
Sorry about the lack of events this and last week, but various different
situations have conspired to result in no speakers. We promise we'll get
you more next term.
However, we plan to fix this by holding another round of Lightning Talks
on Wednesday of 4th week. Details are up on the website [1], but we need
some speakers! The committee can probably come up with a few talks, but
we need you too!
Talks need only be short - five or ten minutes is fine - and can be on
any subject, as long as you can somehow tie it to computers, the
internet, or cheese [2].
So, if you have an talk idea, email us at committee(a)ox.compsoc.net with
a snazzy title (or not so snazzy - we can 'snazzy it up' for you if you
want) and a short paragraph saying what the talk is about. We'll
announce the talks for the event a few days before it happens.
In the meantime, have fun punting/eating strawberries/sitting in a dark
room looking at computer screens...
Andrew

[2]: Cheese is the ultimate food, and so any related talks are entirely
acceptable.
