Hi All,
Just a reminder that the first Learn To Code session will be starting in 30 minutes at the Computer Science Department. Head to either the door on Parks Road, or the door on Keble Road, and you should find someone who will guide you to the room.
Hope to see some of you there!
Regards,
Joe
Dear all,
Facebook will be coming to Oxford for an informal drop-in session tomorrow, Tuesday at 4pm.
The event:https://www.facebook.com/events/1550579865157193
Ever wonder what it is really like to work at Facebook? Want to get the inside scoop on the company mission, culture and roles? Wait no more! Facebook engineer Jackson Gabbard will be on campus to share his experiences around working at Facebook and answer your questions.
When: Tuesday 21st October from 4pm - 6pm Where: Atrium, Department of Computer Science Wolfson Building Parks Road Oxford OX1 3QD
A little about Jackson - "I love Flannery O'Connor as much as I dig Knuth. Educated in English with a minor in Education, I took the scenic route to becoming a software engineer. Started out as a web designer, then an ActionScript (remember Flash!?) developer, and eventually an infrastructure engineer at Facebook. Now I work in London using technology to make Facebook a hard place for baddies to do dastardly things. Also a feminist and playing field leveller. Check me out on Facebook http://fb.me/jg"
Drop in to say hi, grab a cookie and bubble tea, and ask those burning questions!
Look forward to seeing you there!
Best, Maria
