Hello all,

Some of you will know pod (Chris Cooper), an honorary member of CompSoc since 2004. We are very sorry to inform you that pod died on Friday, 28 December 2012. pod worked in Oxford at the Mathamatical Institute from the mid 90s and joined OUCS in November 2001. He was a highly respected member of both the Network and Systems development and support teams; many of us, benefited from pod's technical brilliance, sense of humour and playfulness. He will likely be best remembered within CompSoc for helping with the OUCS machine room tours, and attending talks. He will be very much missed. There will be an event held in Oxford next Saturday to celebrate pod and his interests. If you would like to hear more about this, please email Dominic Hargreaves dom@earth.li
