Thank you so much to everyone who came to the board game night on Saturday
- it was great to see all of you there! This Saturday sees the return of
Movie Night, which is sure to be just as much fun.
On Wednesday we’ll be checking in with our Bronze sponsor *Entrepreneur
First*, for a panel discussion on *launching your own startup*. We’ll be
joined by Alan Mosca from nPlan and Raphael Holca from Mimica. Our Gold

Thursday*. The sessions are completely free to attend and absolutely no
prior experience is required so if you’re at all interested in learning a

software observes, learns and automates the most repetitive work.

Other notices Invariant Magazine seeking editors and designers
We are pleased to announce that The Oxford Invariants, the Oxford
University student mathematics society, aims to re-launch its magazine
called The Invariant. We are looking for prospective editors (and
designers) to join our team.
The role generally entails announcing a call for articles, reviewing
submissions for scientific and grammatical accuracy, communicating with
authors, proofreading, production/publishing, and finally distribution of
the published edition. This is not to intimidate you. The workload is
spread over a year and you will be working with like-minded people
passionate about mathematics, scientific writing and publishing.
We are happy to hear from you whether you are an undergrad or postgrad
student at Oxford and studying mathematics or any related courses. Kindly

We are excited to announce that we are starting the preparations for Oxford
Hack 2020!
Oxford Hack is the official student hackathon held every year in late

With that in mind, we are now recruiting for executive roles! Whether you
enjoy working in a team to create an amazing event or would simply like an
extra thing on your CV, this is the perfect opportunity. For more

Hi everyone!
Welcome back to Oxford! It’s a quiet week this week, with *no Tech Talk on
Wednesday*. On Saturday we have our first social of the term: *Board Game
Night*! It’s certain to be an absolute blast so make sure to pop down for a
game!
If you’re interested in *learning programming* then our beginner-friendly
course *Learn to Code* is returning in Week 2! This is *free* and open to
all students of the university (you don’t have to be a member), so come and
check it out if you’d like to get started learning Python. We're also keen
to take on volunteers for the sessions, so if you have any experience in
Python and are interested in helping out please let us know!
Looking much further ahead, we’ll be hosting *Flash Talks* in Week 7.
Everyone is encouraged to give a 5-10 minute talk on an area of their
(computing) interest. This could be anything from a project you’ve been
working on to a piece of technology you find interesting! If you’re at all
interested in getting involved then do get in touch with the committee, as
this is a great way to talk about something you’re passionate about in a
relaxed and supportive environment.

Hack the Burgh is back and it’s bigger and better than ever!
>From the 29th of February to the 1st of March, over 200 students from
around the globe will occupy Edinburgh University’s Informatics Forum for
24 hours of hacking fun!
Any student over 18 in full-time education or graduates who graduated up to
year ago are welcome, so come with a team of three (larger numbers are
ineligible for prizes), or on your own and find a team at the event.
Pro-hackers and absolute newbies alike are welcome, so come to learn or
come to show-off - we don’t care!
