Application Deadline Approaching for Summer School Work in Oxford

*Summer Work in Oxford: Summer School Teaching and Administration Positions Open to Graduates and Undergraduates* Oxbridge Academic Programs facilitates two well established, academically rigorous summer programmes for advanced secondary school students in Oxford. These are /The Oxford Tradition/ in Corpus Christi and Pembroke Colleges, and /The Oxford Prep Experience/ in Oriel College. Together these programmes bring nearly 600 of the best secondary school students from around the world to Oxford for a month of academic study and intellectual pursuit. During summer 2013, students from over 60 countries joined Oxbridge Academic Programs in Oxford for summer study. Oxbridge Academic Programs is seeking motivated, innovative and creative teachers and programme administrators for these programmes. Applicants for teaching posts should be well-qualified graduates who either have obtained, or are working towards, an appropriate postgraduate qualification (MSc, MPhil, DPhil). A wide variety of courses is offered, including courses in the Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Physical and Medical Sciences. Programme administration positions are open to current undergraduates and include Programme Assistants and Activities Directors. Calling all scientists - Wow! How? 2014 at the museums

Hello everyone, *Wow! How?* at the *Museum of Natural History and Pitt Rivers Museum*: we advertise it to families promising that they can 'make, test, explore, and explode with excitement at our annual bonanza of experiments and hands-on fun!'. Indeed, anyone familiar with our annual science jamboree will know that it is a VERY BIG event, with more than 100 volunteers delivering dozens of different hands-on activities, demos, and talks, as well as helping to welcome visitors, collect feedback, etc. This year's event is *Saturday 15th March* (Saturday 8th week), *10 am - 4 pm*, and although that seems ages away now, there's a lot to get done in the meantime. Attached is a document with lots more general information. There will also be *two briefing sessions: 5.15 pm on 9th and 23rd January*. If you're interested, do get in touch! I'm a postdoc working in the Department of Population Health, and have a background in bioinformatics and medical informatics, and set this group up as I know there are a lot of exciting projects in this field going on in and around Oxford, and wanted to provide the opportunity for people to find out what's going on, to learn from people with complementary skills and experiences, and to develop new ideas to make Oxford a hub of Digital Health. It is cross-disciplinary, with developers, clinicians, researchers, engineers, computer scientists, designers, entrepreneurs, and is also cross sector, with people from academia, healthcare and industry. There are a lot of great speakers lined up from both academia and industry, spanning a wide range of subjects from wearable devices, quantified self, telehealth, digital-omics, through to workshops on clinical-focused data systems and architecture. At the first meetup we'll have talks from Dr Chris Paton from the George Institute / University of Oxford, who will talk about the Heart Failure telehealth project he's been working on, and James Turnbull, co-founder and lead of the dev-team at Incuna who will talk about their experiences working as a digital healthcare agency with academia and the healthcare sectors. Following this will be an opportunity to chat with others over a few drinks either in the University Club, or else at the Kings Arms just up the road.
