Interested in writing free software as a part time job? Here at
Collabora Ltd.[0] we're looking for students to work on Telepathy[1] and
Empathy[2] (an instant messaging framework and a client implemented on
top of it, respectively), to help us bring it them to feature parity
with other IM clients (think file transfer) and work on some of the
ideas we don't have enough hands to implement (such as: an IM daemon you
can run on a server and reattach to from whatever computer you find
yourself at, like an IRC proxy but for all your IM protocols; running a
Quake server for a few of your IM contacts without having to faff around
with port forwarding and distributing IP addresses; portability to
Windows and OS X; etc.).
If this sounds like your kind of thing, send your CV over to
jobs(a)collabora.co.uk. Experience with glib, Gtk+, and other open source
libraries is an advantage, but not essential; we're a helpful bunch, and
most of us started out as student part-timers. :-) If you'd like to talk
about Telepathy or Collabora, feel free to drop by the #telepathy IRC
channel on Freenode, or get in touch with me on IRC (I'm wjt on #compsoc
on OxIRC, or on Freenode, OFTC, etc.), email or Jabber
(will.thompson(a)collabora.co.uk in both cases).

Dear members,
The Italian Society is looking for someone to slightly improve their
existing website [0].
Basically, it's just adding a few new tabs and a wall, where members
could leave their comments.
In return the society offers a *free membership and a free entrance to
all events organised by the Society, which include regular tastings of
Italian food and wine*.
Personally, I think that's a very good deal. If you are potentially up
for it, reply to this message.
Best wishes,
Andrey

WEB DEVELOPER needed for a Climate Policy Research Group
You would be creating a medium-profile site, with an estimated one
hundred analysts signing up and filling out forms in the first couple of
weeks. We intend to run a blog which will be updated on a near-daily
basis. By the end of the year we hope to be attracting media attention
and traffic, so there would be plenty of opportunity as a developer to
get your name out and be associated with an up-and-coming national
research organisation; last year our reports were being handed out at
the G8 Summit. The position would however be unpaid. If you are
interested it would be great to hear from you.
Please contact Niel Bowerman at niel.bowerman(a)keble.ox.ac.uk
<mailto:niel.bowerman@keble.ox.ac.uk>
Also, we are looking for a GRAPHIC DESIGNER to do some work for us.
They would be responsible for designing a logo, helping out with the
front-end web design, and creating a branding package. Again, there
would be plenty of opportunity to have your/their name and
artwork/layout on some decent reports (last year our annual report was
being passed around at the G8 Summit). Is this something that you might
be interested in getting involved in? Or would you be able to put me in
touch with some people that might be interested?
From capitOx:
"...The Prediction Market venture of capitOx, the new finance society at
Oxford. I have attached a brief summary of what the Prediction Market
job would involve from our point of view. Basically, we need someone who
can set this simple system up on our site. It should not take too long."
If you're interested, reply to dessislava.valeva(a)capitox.com.

Marius sends this:
I’m the manager of the MCO this year, along with Danny Saleeb, who
graduated this past summer, and is now directing operations from London.
We were wondering if (currently in principle, mainly) anyone would be
prepared to help us set up a website for the orchestra that we could use
to publicise our concerts, stream media, administer ticket sales and the
like. Danny is currently working with a friend of his to design the
images for our next concert in 7th week of Michaelmas, so the designing
details are yet to come through, but it would be great to know we can
rely on your help later on!
