*Hello World Open 2014: The First Coding World Championships* http://www.helloworldopen.com
The first ever Coding World Championships, Hello World 2014, welcomes future stars of coding. About 10 000 teams of top coders are expected to participate in the exceptional battle organised by the creative technology company Reaktor and the mobile game developer Supercell.
The challenge of each team is to create an artificial intelligence -- also known as a bot -- to take part in a digital car racing game. In the traditional spirit of international sporting events, team members should all share a nationality.
The finals will eventually take place in Helsinki, Finland on June 5th at the Cable Factory. As a warm-up to the event, Supercell's second annual gaming summit will be held earlier that day.
Qualifying rounds will be split into three divisions and grouped geographically by region. Only the top two qualifiers from each region will then compete in the live finals. As always in sports, the crowd has an important role in these World Championships as well. Everyone's got a chance to follow the matches of thousands of top coders online.
