Hi CompSoc!
Good news everyone! Stash has arrived! You can come down to any of our
events from now until the end of term to pick yours up. CompSocks are
coming from a different supplier, so we haven’t got those yet, but
everything else is ready.
Your first chance to pick it up will be at tonight’s Geek Night! It’s going
to be a fairly relaxed one, but we’ll have some computer scientists and
mathematicians on hand to discuss option choices for those moving up a year.
Our TGM is happening this Wednesday. If you’d like to submit a motion then
just get in touch with a member of the committee and we can help you out.
You do need to be a member to attend, but you can purchase lifetime
membership for just £5 on the night. A tentative agenda is attached, but
new motions can be submitted until Tuesday so this may be updated before
the meeting.
If you missed our talk with Artem Kaznatcheev on Algorithmic Biology a few
weeks back, he has since written a brief overview of the talk here
<https://egtheory.wordpress.com/2019/06/01/algorithmic-biology/>. He also
provided us with his slides from the talk, which are attached.
If you're interested in joining the committee for this year's OxfordHack,
then the deadline for applications is tomorrow!

Hi CompSoc!
We hope everyone’s recovered from LAN Night! It was so great to see
everyone there! CompSoc is beginning to wind down its activities for the
term, but we still have a few great events lined up for everyone to enjoy.
First up, *Ocado Technology* are coming to talk about the cutting edge work
done by their 10x Team. Ocado’s work is always fascinating to learn about,
so this is sure to be a great talk. You’ll have a chance to network after
the talk over some (timely!) pizza.
Next Saturday’s Geek Night is a wind down before exams. Some of our members
will be available to discuss Computer Science and/or Maths options with
students moving up a year to help you make your decisions.
Looking further ahead, our Termly General Meeting takes place on Wednesday
of Week 7. If you’d like to put forward a motion then just get in touch
with a member of the committee and we can help you out.
Gold sponsor *TPP* are holding more logic and reasoning tests later this
term. Check out below for more information!
Remember to follow CompSoc’s Instagram

be appearing soon!
