Hi members,
Yes, it's happened again.
The location of Friday's FreeBSD talk has been changed from Lincon college
as previously announced to the Denis Sciama Lecture Theatre in the Denys
Wilkinson Building.
This is on the corner of Banbury Rd + Keble Rd, opposite St Giles Church.
I'm sorry that the location of our talks keep changing, but there's nothing
we could have done.
I (or someone else) will be manning the door (which is swipecard-protected)
between 8:10 and 8:30, so please get there on time.
Tomorrow's talk will be the last free event for non-members.
Cheers,
Ken.

Remember that events are free for non-members until Week 3 (inclusive).
Mac OSX - Like UNIX, only more so
Graham J Lee
Wednesday 19 Oct 20:30, Oakeshott Room, Lincoln College
------------------------------------------------
Mac OSX is Apple's Unix based next generation operating system.
Graham J Lee will be giving an overview of OSX, as well as diving
briefly into the OSX APIs which are stunningly sexy. He will also go
through some of the more important open source projects built up
around OSX.
FreeBSD Release Engineering
Murray Stokely
Friday 21 Oct 20:30, Oakeshott Room, Lincoln College
------------------------------------------------
Murray Stokely, a FreeBSD core team member and release enginner, will
describe the open source FreeBSD Project. He will talk about the
history, how it differs from Linux, and some of the exciting new
developments. He will focus particularly on the development
organization, and how source code changes are managed and how
releases are built.
Note that the termcard is now on the website:
http://www.ox.compsoc.net/events/termcards/current/
The speaker of Friday's talk, Murray Stokely, has asked me to pass on
his words that he would be interested in talking with anyone who is
just graduating and looking for work, as Google is hiring aggressively.

A guy from GameFactory, Inc. has contacted me asking if any of our

Albatross18: Realms of Pangya, and has provided us with test accounts
which have been upgraded with extra points.
Please e-mail me if you're interested at all.

Hi all,
Just a reminder of today's event:

Freshers' Drinks is a chance to meet existing Compsoc members and
find out what the society's all about. We'll be there all evening (as

Remember that there will be free mags for the first 25 lifetime
members, and DVDs for the first 100 members.
See you all there!
