The role involves careful examination of written documents and proposing alternative or additional drafting. You will also assist with bidding for new contracts, executing agreements and providing ongoing contract management, ensuring that TPP is delivering an excellent standard of service to its customers and that its suppliers are meeting their obligations. I tracked the cause down to the implementation of a channel in the API we used; but I couldn't spot the bug itself by staring at the code. This talk will describe how I used model checking to find the bug: I modelled the channel implementation using the process algebra CSP, and then used the model checker FDR to find the cause of the deadlock. There was a straightforward fix to the bug, which I then verified using CSP and FDR. The talk should be accessible to people with no knowledge of concurrent programming or CSP.
